6.11.08 | Dolenni Hud launch - Cardiff

Dolenni Hud went to print on Monday and, with a little bit of luck, will be ready in time for the official launch in Chapter Arts Centre on the evening of Wednesday, 26 November. Come along by all means, if you're in the area.

There will be readings from the book, informal discussions and a presentation of ‘Parallel Wales’, the installation Simon and I presented recently at The LAB, San Francisco.

We're hoping to have a launch in Bangor too, tentatively scheduled for Friday, 5 December Saturday, 6 December. There will be more details on that as they become available.

That's it for the time being. Go America.

22.10.08 | 'Parallel Wales' at The LAB, San Francisco

The cheap flights have probably all gone by now, but our installation (Simon Proffitt and me, that is), Cymru Arall / Parallel Wales, is opening later today at The LAB gallery in San Francisco.

The work consistis of Simon's photographs, of 'Welsh' places in America (soon to be featured in Dolenni Hud), cut to sounds gathered in the equivalent places in Wales. Part of the gallery's Relay season, Parallel Wales will be showing from 22 October - 15 November.

Places getting the treatment include: Blackwood, Bryn Mawr, Bethesda, Cardiff, Flint, Llandaff, Llangollen, Gwynedd, Canton, Buckley, Neath and North Wales.

I'll post one of the films here in the near future. In the meantime, you can read some background material on this here PDF.

(And we can't go to San Francisco either, so we'll be watching from afar too, more's the pity...)
